When 12-year-old dork Chester Bavarian discovers the 4000-year-old vampire king Nossferty in his basement, he does what any kid would do - he befriends him. And when Nossferty makes it his mission to recruit his vampire army from Chester's school, well, Chester does what any best friend would do - he signs up immediately. Unfortunately for them, Noss's soda-addicted squirrel servant Squishy is planning his own undead revolution. And unfortunately for Squishy, Chester's overwrought cat Nill, who lost her place as the beloved family pet to Squishy, is dedicated to squashing the squirrel. Luckily for the world, vampire-out-of-water Nossferty's plans never seem to work. And luckily for Chester, no matter how much their recruiting (read: popularity-seeking) backfires, he's always got his best vampire buddy to hang out with.
