LEO AND THE SEVEN SINS Radical Sheep Teams Up With John Halfpenny for New Animated SeriesFor Immediate ReleaseNovember 20th, 2003 Leading children's and family television producer, Radical Sheep Productions is pleased to announce an agreement with John Halfpenny to design and direct Radical Sheep's latest series LEO AND THE SEVEN SINS. John Leitch, President of Radical Sheep Productions says "This was our first foray into animation and we wanted to be sure that we had the right team and the right property. John Halfpenny will be the cornerstone of the LEO team". John Halfpenny is a multi-award winning animation director with 30 years of experience in the animation industry. His awards are numerous, but among his favourites are an Emmy for "Beetlejuice", a Gemini for "Stickin Around," and being voted Best Television Series, at the Annecy Festival for "Angela Anaconda". John Halfpenny says "I was very excited when Radical Sheep presented this opportunity to me. The property has enormous potential both from a story and technical perspective. I was also attracted by Radical Sheep's open and collaborative approach to the creative process. I felt I could make a meaningful contribution to LEO AND THE SEVEN SINS." THE SEVEN SINS are a gang of mythological miscreants with a taste for comic mischief. When Zeus kicks GLUTTONY, GREED, ENVY, SLOTH, ANGER, LUST AND PRIDE off Mount Olympus for their trouble making-ways, the SEVEN SINS only chance for redemption is to help a mortal. And what better mortal to help than the lovable doofus, LEO PAPADOPOULOS, an 18-year-old trying to deal with life after high school. LEO is freaked when the SEVEN SINS take over his apartment. Between their supernatural power and amoral behaviour, THE SINS are the worst roomies you can imagine. Between their half-baked powers and slacker ways, the sins are a disaster zone waiting to happen. In their plans gone really wrong, THE SINS create comic chaos that inevitably makes LEO's life a living hell. The series creator is David Wiechorek (Writing credits include Feature Films - My Brother's Keeper, Artificial Lies, Seeds Of Doubt, Television - Mentors, Are You Afraid of the Dark). The series is targeted at urban hipsters and their detractors (13 x 30 min.). LEO AND THE SEVEN SINS will be presented in a very exciting new mixed media combination that will describe reality in dimensional layers. Both 2D and 3D technologies will be married to create a striking and unique look. LEO AND THE SEVEN SINS is currently being presented to broadcasters in Canada and Europe. |
