BUTTERNUTSQUASH

Radical Sheep Options TV Rights to Slacker Slice-of-Life Webcomic

For Immediate Release
Toronto- October 8, 2008

Radical Sheep Productions, an acclaimed television production company based out of Toronto Canada has recently optioned the rights to produce a new animation/live-action hybrid series for adults, based on ButterNutSquash, the irreverent slacker web comic based on creators Ramon Perez and Rob Coughler's dysfunctional social lives.

The web comic follows the daily exploits of Ramon, Rob and their closest friends as they pursue the carnal pleasures of being twenty and thirty-somethings. No stone is left unturned as they consistently fail to shy away from exploring even their most embarrassing personal moments.

"We're really excited by the thought of ButterNutSquash on television. But of course I'm terrified that my mother will see it," says strip artist and protagonist Ramon Perez. "We'll naturally deny everything and claim it's all sensationalized for TV," co-writer Rob Coughler adds.

"From the very first strip we read, we knew there was something exploitable about ButterNutSquash. It's absurd, crude, clever and ultimately, completely relatable," says John Leitch, President of Radical Sheep Productions. "We had to have it."

Radical Sheep is looking to produce 13 x ½ hours of ButterNutSquash for the 18-35 audience, with broad appeal to the late-night crowd. It will be animated, punctured by live-action segments featuring the real life equivalents of the animated characters.

The property is currently being presented to Canadian broadcasters.

The ButterNutSquash web comic can be found at butternutsquash.net.
